Condensate technology for compressed air treatment

Because the humidity of the ambient air is contained in the intake air, condensate always accumulates during compressing the compressed air in the compressor. The contamination already contained in the ambient air, such as dust and dirt particles or aerosols, are then located in the condensate in highly concentrated form. Condensate continues to also accumulate again in the additional compressed air treatment (filtration and drying) procedure. The condensate technology enables this polluted and environmentally harmful waste product to be discharged and treated, as it must not be initiated into the sewer system.

Condensate drain BEKOMAT®

Condensate is generated at almost all stations in the compressed air system, from the compressing stage through to treatment by filtration or drying. BEKOMAT helps you remove condensate from your compressed air and achieve the optimum quality for your application . In doing so, the energy expenditures and thereby the costs are kept as low as possible. Renowned compressor manufacturers from all over the world rely on the intelligent technology from BEKOMAT.

Innovation: BEKOMAT i4.0

A fusion of tried-and-trusted condensate discharge & digitisation

Our tried-and-trusted BEKOMAT condensate drains have been well known for decades for the operational reliability, durability and simple installation of the products as well as their efficiency, economic efficiency and eco-friendliness. We are now going a step further and enriching the previous functionality with the advantages and benefits of the digital world. The new BEKOMAT i4.0 thus fulfils the expectations placed on i4.0 systems such as networkability, remote monitoring, flexibility and, above all, future-proofing.

Condensate processing with QWIK-PURE® and BEKOSPLIT ®

Condensate processing is the next stage after condensate discharge. The legislator has clear provisions here which must be complied with. With the active QWIK-PURE oil-water separation systems and BEKOSPLIT reaction separation plants, you can process condensate in an environmentally friendly, cost-effective and legally compliant manner - directly on site and without an approval procedure. Owners and operators of compressors and compressed air systems can easily treat condensate themselves with a processing system. Compared to the treatment of the entire amount of condensate by specialist companies, the self-administered condensate processing saves around 90% of the disposal costs - and therefore amortises itself in a very short time.

Oil-Water-Separator: QWIK-PURE®

Classical oil-water separators based on the principle of gravity separation can hardly be technically improved any more. For the development of the new generation, we paid special attention to the people who work with the product.

Emulsion Splitting Unit: BEKOSPLIT®

The BEKOSPLIT separates even stable emulsions and enables a reliable and economical treatment for resulting condensates. In this way, our emulsion processing systems create load-free disposal of oil-contaminated industrial wastewater.

Already knew? Condensate characteristics

Disperse condensates separate into different phases after a certain time. In this case, the condensate can be treated with an ÖWAMAT. Emulsion-containing condensates are long-term stable, they do not separate after a certain time. This makes treatment with a BEKOSPLIT necessary.

BEKO TECHNOLOGIES can analyse your condensate in their own laboratory and analyse the properties which are relevant for your application. On this basis, we can determine the optimum processing path and the correct design for your system. BEKO TECHNOLOGIES analysis service simultaneously ensures compliance with legal environmental regulations.

Applications of condensate technology

Drucklufterzeugung in der Wellpappenfabrik

Compressed air production in the corrugated board factory

This industrial sector is more than a cardboard facade: more than 100 factories with approximately 19,000 employees specialize in this field, producing and processing corrugated cardboard in Germany. Compressed air and its processing plays a central role in the production process. In particular, moisture in compressed air would have serious consequences for plants, raw materials and final products.

Surface cleaning at HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co.

Blowing of high-performance electronics via pulsating rotary jets, and tracing of plastic housings with cleaning plasma jets: At the German automotive supplier Hella, compressed air takes over the central tasks in the surface cleaning of safety-relevant components. The most important requirement in this respect: the reliable, complete absence of oil.

Druckluftaufbereitung auf Hybrid-Lokomotiven

Compressed air preparation on hybrid locomotives

A trendy concept in automobile engineering, and an already proven technology on rails: the hybrid drive. The combination of a diesel generator and a battery on state-of-the-art locomotives leads to fuel savings of up to 50%. What is always on board is a complex "mobile" compressed-air processing system for the operation of the hydraulic brakes.

Oil and germ free for medicine

For the production of medicaments, the strictest hygienic standards apply to the production conditions. This of course also applies to the required compressed air. It must be absolutely free from oil in order not to contaminate the sensitive products. In its factory in Singen, Germany, drug manufacturer Nycomed relies on a comprehensive system solution provided by BEKO to treat the process air in a reliably oil-free manner.
