Our newsletter system has a tracking function that allows us to keep track of which recipients opened the newsletter at what time and which articles were clicked. The IP address is also recorded for this purpose. Your data is processed within the scope of tracking in order to provide you with an improved range of our services. We use this data primarily to find out which topics are of interest to you by tracking whether our newsletters are opened and which links you click on. Google may store cookies on your terminal device in order to provide the service. Cookies are small text files that serve to recognise your browser.
Google stores the following data as part of your website usage: In addition to the IP address, the time, place, duration and frequency of your website visit are stored. We have set up Google Analytics in such a way that the IP address is made anonymous.
The IP address processed is shortened for this purpose. Google uses data to create reports for us on the use of our web pages. By means of these, we can recognise user streams on our website and optimise our website based on the findings.
Google will pass this information on to third parties if law requires this. Under no circumstances will Google merge your IP address with other data held by Google.
As part of the processing of Google Analytics, personal data will be transferred to the USA. In this case, the anonymisation of the IP address is carried out in any case before the transmission to the USA on servers within the member states of the European Union. The transfer of personal data to the USA takes place based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission dated July 12th 2016 ("EU-US Data Protection Shield").
Objection to data collection. You can object to data collection by Google Analytics as follows: Google provides a deactivation add-on that you can install in your browser. If this is properly installed in your browser, Google will not collect any data as part of the analytics program. The possibility of objection within the framework of the Analytics programme has no effect on the possible transfer of data to other web services.
The deactivation add-on can be downloaded from Google's website at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
3.5 Data transfers to third countries outside the EU
